School Activities and Clubs
STUDENT COUNCIL
(4&5 Grade Students, must apply in the fall):
Student Council is a leadership group made up of 4th and 5th grade students who help shape the spirit and culture of Neil Armstrong Elementary. Council members play an important role in promoting school-wide activities, supporting community service projects, and sharing student ideas with staff. They serve as positive role models and help strengthen connections between students, staff, and the community. Depending on what’s happening throughout the year, meetings may take place weekly or during school hours.
PRISM CLUB
(4&5 Grade Students)
This student-run club offers a safe and supportive space where LGBTQ+ students and allies can build community and connect with one another. At the elementary level, the club explores topics such as identity, family, and respect in an age-appropriate and inclusive way. Prism Club is designed to foster a safe, welcoming school environment and promote an anti-bullying message. Meetings often start with a fun game to socialize and build connections, then a book or a short video clip, and then a student-led discussion. Before wrapping up, students will have the chance to share ideas for the next meeting. Prism Club will meet once a month during lunchtime.
INCLUSION AND DIVERSITY CLUB
(4&5 Grade Students)
Our inclusion and diversity club seeks to create a safe space for students who are having social difficulties, friendship challenges, or just need a space to come and eat lunch with some friendly faces. We will play games, socialize, talk about challenges students are facing, or just provide support wherever our students need it. Topics we discuss will come from our students and conversations will be led by them. Our job is to support our students wherever they need it and let them know we are here to create that safe space for all of them.
